Slade couldn't take his mind off of this certain girl. Her name was Concordia Ambrosia and he knew that she had a twin named Calliope. They were identical, he knew that too. But, after seeing both before, he couldn't deny that Connie was the one his mind kept racing back to. He had met her two years ago at a party and had instantly been attracted and intrigued by her. She was much sweeter than her twin and he enjoyed her company. When he'd last seen her, she had been angry at him for something she thought he hadn't done. Not what he had done, but what she assumed he hadn't. She had asked him to take care of something for her and he had. Connie had been attacked at a party two years ago, raped even. She had come to him for help and he had gotten into a fight with the bastard, not too long after she had been whisked away by her twin and their friends into safety. No one had known what happened except for three of them, maybe four if she had included her sister. Or at least, he thought that was the case. He got into a brawl with that loser and the guy was now the proud owner of a fake tooth, actually, teeth rather. He also sported a scar on his cheek and an arm that hadn't quite set right.
However, Connie hadn't gotten the knowledge that he had taken care of things for her. Instead, she had ranted at him and told him she never wanted to speak to him again. Or at least, they hadn't spoken since then. He couldn't remember all of the details. All he knew was that he was basically in love with her and he wanted to be friends with her again. Maybe even more if she allowed it. He wanted to explain everything to her. He could prove that there was a fight because he held the scar on his chest to prove it. The asshole had been carrying a blade and he had, fortunately, only nicked him. Sighing, he was lead over to a booth in the back of the small pizzeria of Poseidon Island. He dropped down in his seat and stared blankly at the menu for a long moment before finally ordering himself a coke and a pepperoni pizza. Yes, a whole pizza. The boy could eat when he wanted to. And, right now, feeling as depressed as he was, he would and could eat the whole thing. Unless, of course, he had some company. Which he hoped he would have, considering that he had sent word to Connie that he wanted to see her.

Connie was a rather stubborn girl sometimes, depending on the circumstances, this one, especially. She had heard from Slade, a boy she'd met two years a go at a party, and that he wanted to see her. She really didn't like this boy Slade, near enough then, let alone now that he was here on the same island as her. She really had no idea he had a power too, perhaps she should have guessed but it isn't common. He'd invited her to meet him at the pizza place nearby and even though she wanted to refuse, she thought she aught to give him a chance to explain anything she needed to know, or simply have a civil conversation. If there was one thing, Connie wasn't, then that was cruel, she'd hear people out no matter what it is they have to say. Deciding she was rather nervous to see him again after such a long time, she'd shifted into a waitress, so that he wouldn't know it was her at first.
Connie actually rather loved her superpower, she'd become a pen once, to play a prank on an unsuspecting victim, yes, Connie was a guilty prankster, she loved to make people jump, which is usually why she'd shift into a tiger and scare the locals, but of course, she'd shift back at the last minute and they'd all laugh about it. Sometimes she felt like something out of x-men, which was either a good thing or bad thing depending on the moment. Finally, Connie moved over to Slade and slid down onto a chair opposite him, she didn't say anything, but she slowly shifted back into her normal self. She looked him over and tried to give him a weak smile, he hadn't changed much, apart from his height and maybe his hair. "Umm, hey, Slade.." She said simply, looking down at her hands nervously.

As he was waiting to see if Connie would show, Slade felt a sliver of doubt shiver down his back and glance through his mind. She pretty much hated him, as far as he had heard over the past year or so. He hadn't really tried to reach out to her recently and he had a piece of doubt in his mind that said she wouldn't show today. He wanted to prove to her that he had defended her that night. Him, a total stranger to her and her problem, had taken up for her. Hell, he hadn't even known her name that night. That piece of information had come to him a few days afterward. He had only known the guy's name because she had told him, neglecting to introduce herself. Sighing softly, he latched his mouth to the drink that was brought to him and began to thoughtlessly pick at a pepperoni that was hanging off one of the slices before him. He'd eat, eventually.
After a few moments, he watched as someone walked into the pizzeria and then stop to look around. It was then that he finally realized that it was Connie, and she was looking for him. When she finally saw him, she walked over and slid into the seat in front of him. Allowing himself to slip into her thoughts, he realized that she was nervous about meeting with him but he was glad to know that she didn't seem angry or hateful towards him at this point in time. That had him relaxing every slightly. He quickly removed himself from her mind without her knowledge and heard her say hello to him in a nervous manner, confirming the thoughts he had just captured from her head. Slade watched her for a moment, took another sip of his Coke and then finally spoke up, "Hey Connie." he said softly, his voice calm even though he too was nervous.
"I'm glad you decided to come." he admitted with a small, almost boyish smile. "How are you doing?" he asked, his question and the curiosity it held genuine.

Connie didn't yet know Slade's power, but by the look on his face, she felt as if it might have been one related to the mind, rather than any physical power. But that was just a wild guess, she didn't know for sure. She didn't even know he had a power until she'd heard he was on Poseidon Island, she freaked out when she found out because she swore she'd never see him again after that night, especially as it wasn't even in her home town, which was still in Greece, just a lot further away, the party had been in America, New York for that matter, her and her sister had gone over there once, on holiday and had been invited to a complete strangers party, and that was that. But now, seeing him in person after two years, unnerved her a little, he looked well, and rather good looking, she felt a small smile creep on her face but it quickly disappeared when she realised what she was doing. She took a breath and looked back up at him, trying to return a rather civil smile. She was beginning to think he wasn't going to answer, or he was annoyed with her, she was often paranoid about small things like that, though of course, she'd keep them to herself as she was a rather closed up inside her mind, she didn't often express how she felt or what she was thinking. But he finally did reply and the awkward panic had stopped.
At first, she didn't know what to say, she'd said all she could say to him the very first night they met, the only night they met before she'd kept him in her mind the whole time. Yes, she had to admit, as soon as she met him, she rather liked him, or liked the look of him, you see she liked the 'bad boy' type, which was the facade she'd noticed on him, but when he appeared to not have helped her in her time of need, she'd hated his guts, from then onwards and she wasn't afraid to express that thought, though she never did think about how she liked him at first, never, so it wasn't like he'd know about it. The only thing she could think of, was how when she'd asked him to help her, he hadn't seemed to act upon it and completely ignored her, so she ended up being thrown into a bedroom and practically raped, as she didn't want to do it and tried to fight, but there was no way she could escape from it, being a very small fourteen year old. "I couldn't refuse really.. I'm not like that.. And anyway, the least I deserve is an explanation" She said, rather shortly, there was no tone of irritation, or harshness, though yet there wasn't any tone of happiness or sweetness. It was just, quick and short, nothing to it. But she did return another smile to him, because she was a sweet person at heart, and no matter what anyone did, or didn't do, she couldn't be horrible to them, the only person she was ever horrible to, was usually her sister, but even then, it was rare.
Connie looked down at the pizza, and her eyes lit up, she didn't usually get pizza, it wasn't something she was prone to eating, she usually stuck to greek food which she found she'd been a great lover to, ever since she was introduced to it. And then she'd noticed he'd replied, so she tore her eyes away from the pizza and back to Slade's face. "Iv'e been okay, not.. amazing.. but Iv'e adjusted to the fact that I'm a freak.. now.. And I intend to carry on using it to prank people.." She'd beamed, in the same sort of tone as before, but slightly more cheerful, when it came to talking about her power, she was usually very happy about it, but she was always very happy in general. "You're looking well... How have you been?". She asked, her eyes back on the pizza, she wasn't going to eat any, she wasn't intending on staying too long, but she might as well order something herself, she felt wrong eating his pizza, and she wasn't intending on asking either, for now, she'd just fantasize about eating it, rather than actually eating it. Perhaps she'd shift into a monkey and steal someones hotdog later, or into a celebrity and go to a restaurant for special treatment, yes, it was definitely the life.

Watching Connie as she looked at him, Slade could see that she was analyzing him intensely. This time, however, he didn't peak into her thoughts in order to find out what she was thinking. He would let time tell him that. He greeted the beautiful girl he couldn't stop thinking about and waited for her to respond to him again. To answer his question. When he said that he was glad that she had come, she replied saying that she couldn't refuse because she wasn't like that and then shocked him by saying that she deserved an explanation at the very least. Hiding how her words had shocked him, Slade thought about what he could owe her an explanation for and inwardly sighed. She still believed that he hadn't helped her. And, really, even if he hadn't, she couldn't blame him because he hadn't known her from Eve that night. But, fortunately for her, he had helped her. "Owe you an explanation for what?" he asked, wanting her to say what she really wanted to know so that he could set her worries aside. Was this the only reason she had avoided him over the years?
He then asked her how she was doing and he noticed that her eyes strayed to his pizza. Slade listened as she answered him, saying that she was okay and that she was adjusting to being a freak. Saying that she was using her powers to prank people. Slade looked at her for a long moment and shook his head, "You're not a freak." he commented, "Besides, what is your power?" He inquired, curious. Connie then told him that looked well and asked how he was doing. Slade looked at her for a long moment and noticed her eyes trail back to the pan of pizza in front of him. Picking up his own slice, he took a bite, chewing and swallowing before saying, "I am well. I've been doing pretty good. At the moment though, I'm pretty hungry." he said, taking another bite of his pizza, sighing in pleasure as he chewed. "Care to join me?" he asked, nodding towards the other seven or so slices before them.
As he ate, Slade watched Connie out of the corner of his eye, not wanting to stare her down and make her uncomfortable. But, he couldn't not look at her. She was beautiful and he was sure that he had fallen for her that night two years ago. If he hadn't, then he was damn well close it. Something akin to love at first sight, that was for sure.
